Hon. James Shaw is an Operating Partner at Morrison, a leading global infrastructure investment management company. Based in Singapore, he leads the Investor Solutions team in Asia and Morrison’s work exploring carbon markets opportunities around the world. He is a Director of Morrison portfolio company Pastoral Partners Australia.

James is the Chair of WWF-NZ and the New Zealand Climate Foundation and a member of the Air New Zealand Sustainability Advisory Panel. He acts as an advisor to a range of climate and nature related start-ups and not-for-profit organisations.

Prior to joining Morrison, James served in the New Zealand House of Representatives from 2014-2024 and as New Zealand’s Climate Change Minister from 2017-2023 and in other portfolios over that time, including Associate Minister of Finance.

Previously, James had a 15-year career as a consultant based in London, working with clients all over the world. He holds a MSc from the University of Bath School of Management.
