Imran Jafar is a Managing Partner at Gaja Capital (www.gajacapital.com), an India-focused, mid-market growth and buyout firm based in Mumbai. Founded in 2004, the firm invests across its core themes of Digital Technology (intelligent software and automation), Consumer, Financial Services, Healthcare and Education.

Imran has 27 years of experience across private equity, pharmaceuticals and technology services, including more than 20 years in private equity. Before Gaja Capital, he held roles of increasing responsibility at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and Wipro Technologies.

At Gaja Capital, Imran leads investments in the education, software and consumer clusters. He has worked closely with the firm’s investments in Amber Student (a global marketplace for student accommodation), Signzy (a SaaS platform for banking and financial services), LeadSquared (a sales-automation SaaS platform), Ei (B2B learning software), Sportz Village (youth sports), Lighthouse Learning (pre-K and K-12 schools), John Distilleries (spirits) and CL Educate (supplemental education).

He holds a Master of Science in software engineering from BITS Pilani and an MBA from IIM Bangalore.
