James Mi is Founding Partner of Luminous Ventures (formerly Lightspeed China Partners), a leading venture capital firm with over USD 3.5B under management, focusing on AI, Deep Tech, and Climate Tech. Luminous's early-stage investments include leading AI companies such as Zhongji InnoLight, Zhipu AI, MetaX and Unitree Robotics, as well as public companies including Hesai Technology, Pinduoduo, Meituan and Hanshow Technology. James has been included in the Forbes Midas List of the world's top venture capitalists for five consecutive years. Previously, James served as the first Chief Representative of Google China, worked on chip design at Intel headquarters, and co-founded his own startup. James received an MS in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and a BS in Physics from Fudan University, and holds 14 US patents.
