Liang-Chee Chong is a seasoned private markets executive with extensive experience in direct investments and a strong network across high-growth companies, PE and VC firms and investors.

Since joining Julius Baer in October 2021 as Head of Direct Private Investments Asia, Liang developed the bank’s private markets franchise across the region. He works closely with innovative private companies and leading PE and VC managers to originate and evaluate differentiated investment opportunities for Julius Baer and its clients.

Prior to this, Liang spent 15 years at HSBC in investment banking across London and Hong Kong, advising financial sponsors on strategic transactions and capital markets activities. He also served as a sector specialist covering the consumer and retail industries, providing strategic advise to leading regional and global companies.

Liang holds a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bristol and a Master in Finance from Imperial College Business School, UK.
