Michael Kim is the founder and Managing Partner of Cendana Capital, a fund-of-funds investing in seed VC funds. Portfolio funds include: 01 Ventures, 11.2 Ventures, Accelerator Ventures, Blackbird Ventures, Bolt VC, Bowery Capital, Cherubic Ventures, Collaborative Fund, Engineering Capital, Entree Capital, Forerunner Ventures, Founder Collective, Freestyle Capital, Golden Ventures, IA Ventures, K9 Ventures, Lerer Hippeau, MHS Capital, Mucker Capital, Neo Ventures, NextView Ventures, Notation Capital, PivotNorth Capital, Root Ventures, Saama Capital, Silicon Valley Data Capital, Spider Capital, Susa Ventures, Uncork VC and Wave Capital.
In March 2004, Michael was appointed by the Mayor of San Francisco to a 5-year term as a Trustee of the San Francisco Employee Retirement System, a $25 billion pension fund, and served as the President of the board and the Chairman of the Investment Committee.
Formerly an investment banker, Michael was with Morgan Stanley's Technology Mergers and Acquisitions Group in Menlo Park. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Michael was an associate at The Chase Manhattan Bank in NYC and also worked at IBM.
He is an honors graduate of Cornell University, has an MS from the School of Foreign Service of Georgetown University, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. Michael is presently on the board of the Wikimedia Endowment.
