Puren Ucar brings a vibrant, multicultural perspective to her work, shaped by her half-Turkish, half-Armenian heritage and upbringing in southern Türkiye. Having lived in Bordeaux, London, and now Istanbul, she enriches her global outlook through diverse life experiences. Outside of work, she is a passionate show jumper, competing with her beloved French horse whenever her schedule and travels allow.

Professionally, Puren is one of the earliest pioneers in VC Talent in Europe—playfully referring to herself as one of the “early dinosaurs” in the field. Over seven years at Earlybird VC, she built and led one of the continent’s largest VC talent teams, supporting more than 40 founders on talent strategy, leadership team building and development, and organizational design. Today, she consults with VC firms on aligning talent strategy with investment goals, advises founders on building global leadership teams, and leads high-level executive searches—continuously shaping the talent landscape of venture-backed startups.”
