Tony leads the integration of sustainability into the Bank’s strategy, operations, investment and market engagement activities.
He joined the British Business Bank in March 2023 as the ESG Director and was appointed Managing Director, Sustainability in November 2023. After an early career in investment banking and finance at PwC, Barclays Bank and Credit Suisse, Tony worked for a number of start-ups and smaller companies. He has worked in the field of sustainability for 20 years, including leading policy research into sustainable finance and economics at the New Economics Foundation and the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, and over 10 years as an advisor to Liontrust Asset Management plc’s Sustainable Futures funds.
He holds an MSc in Environmental Policy and Evaluation from the London School of Economics and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.
