Profile
Cambridge Innovation Capital (CIC) was established ten years ago to focus on the successful commercialisation of global leading life sciences and deep tech innovation borne out of the Cambridge ecosystem. Since inception, CIC has consistently worked to align innovators' aspirations with investor expectations. We have secured over £0.5 billion in funding and have invested in over 40 companies. To date, CIC portfolio companies have attracted £3bn of incremental external investment (a ratio of 9:1 on CIC's initial investment).
Through our unique partnership with the University of Cambridge and our extensive network spanning entrepreneurs, world class research institutes and CIC founded accelerators, as well as major strategic corporates, CIC and their underlying investors benefit from unparalleled insight into the next wave of globally impactful startups.
Our investment enables the development of disruptive technologies across a spectrum of fields, including cancer therapy, genomic diagnosis, surgical robotics, artificial intelligence and quantum computing. Pursuit of commercial value is integral to all CIC decision making, but our motivation is much broader. The team is driven by a collective desire to commit our expertise and capital in support of visionary entrepreneurs leading innovative companies, which have the potential to make meaningful contributions to society.
