Cecilia Cotta-Ramusino has spent 25 years in academia and industry. She has made pioneering discoveries in the field of DNA damage, functional genomics and gene editing. She also has extensive experience in company building and entrepreneurship. Cecilia was one of the first scientists at Editas, the first CRISPR-based therapeutic company, where she helped to define and shape the vision of the Editas platform. Following the experience in Editas, Cecilia moved into the interface between biology and AI joining insitro as the first employee where she was the Head of Functional Genomic.

Since 2019 Cecilia has been in the leadership team as SVP -Head of platform development at Tessera Therapeutic where she is leading a team of scientists to develop novel gene editing tools inspired by mobile genetic elements.
