Profile
My background is traditional small molecule chemistry. I received my BSc and PhD from Imperial College, London studying aromatic fluorination followed by postdoctoral studies at the University of Texas at Austin on natural product synthesis with Phil Magnus. I spent 4 years in Ciba / Novartis on agrochemical and medicinal chemistry activities in the UK and Switzerland before moving to AstraZeneca in 1998. My current role is Principal Scientist where I am accountable for synthetic Route Design and sustainability across the department. For the last 4 years I have also been responsible for drug substance development and capability build activities for the AstraZeneca oligo portfolio.
