Nicole Lawrence, PhDSenior Research Fellow at Institute for Molecular Bioscience and Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Innovations in Peptide and Protein Science, The University of QueenslandSpeaker
Profile
Dr Nicole Lawrence obtained a BSc from James Cook University of North Queensland and an Honours degree and PhD from the University of Queensland, Australia. She has undertaken postdoctoral roles at the University of British Columbia in Canada, and Protagonist Therapeutics and the Institute of Molecular Bioscience in Australia. Dr Lawrence is currently a senior research fellow in Professor David Craik’s lab at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience where she leads the development of peptide-based antimalarial drugs. She enjoys working with interdisciplinary teams at the interface of chemistry and biology to leverage the potential of peptides for developing next-generation medicines that selectively target infected cells and are less likely to induce development of drug resistance.
