Ranganath Gopalakrishnan is Senior Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Zealand Pharma, where he leads scientific programs spanning multiple modalities. He brings over 12 years of drug discovery experience, having directed multiple programs from target validation through candidate nomination.

Before joining Zealand Pharma, he spent nearly a decade at AstraZeneca in As Director, New Modality within Medicinal Chemistry, working across obesity, cardiovascular, metabolic disease areas.

Ranganath has driven multiple strategic collaborations and was recognized as Most Meritorious Runner-Up for the 2024 EFMC Prize for Young Medicinal Chemist and Chemical Biology in Industry. He has authored 18 publications and holds multiple patents.
