Dr. Shiyue Fang is a Professor in the Chemistry Department of Michigan Technological University. He received Ph.D. in organic chemistry from University of Missouri-St. Louis (2001); and conducted postdoc research in nucleic acid chemistry at Purdue University (2001-2004). His research interests are in the areas of nucleic acid chemistry and organic synthesis. Current projects in his group include developing methodologies for long oligonucleotide synthesis, and for sensitive modified DNA and RNA synthesis. The projects are supported by US NSF and NIH. Dr. Fang authored more than 80 research articles including invited book chapters. He is an inventor of four patents and four pending patent applications.
