Sho Toyonaga, Ph.D. is the Director of Drug Delivery Research at FUJIFILM Pharmaceuticals U.S.A., Inc., where he leads research and early development of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology for nucleic acid delivery to extrahepatic tissues. Since 2019, he has also served as a Visiting Scientist in the Anderson Lab at MIT, where he leads efforts to develop targeted delivery systems for specific cell types, including hematopoietic stem cells.
Sho has extensive expertise in formulation development, pharmacokinetics, and immuno-oncology, as well as a strong foundation in structural biology gained during his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. studies in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Tokyo. His professional experience includes roles at FUJIFILM Corporation and the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT.
