Samira Saad is an outcomes-focused Medical Affairs leader with 18 years of experience across pharmacy practice, payer engagement, health economics and outcomes research, and access strategy. She currently serves as Director, Medical Affairs, Payer and Access Strategy Lead – Health Systems at Merck.
Samira has experience in Medical Affairs leadership roles spanning many organizations including Roche & Medvantx, where she supported evidence generation, stakeholder education, patient assistance programs and healthcare value communication for payer and policy audiences.
A pharmacist by training, Samira has practiced as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and Adjunct Clinical Faculty across University of Michigan Health System sites, practicing in multiple therapeutic areas. She also served on the Michigan Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee for the State Medicaid.
Samira earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Wayne State University and a Master of Science in Healthcare Management from Johns Hopkins University. She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and has authored publications in peer-reviewed scientific journal.
