Standard Bank Group

Yinka Sanni is the Chief Executive Officer for Africa Regions in Standard Bank Groupresponsible for the Group’s 19 markets in Africa outside South Africa.

Priorto assuming this role, Yinka was the Regional Chief Executive for the West Region within the Africa Regions looking over the Group’s operations in Nigeria, Ghana and Cote D'Ivoire.

He has served the Group in various senior leadership positions as the Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC from 2017 to 2020 and the Chief Executive for Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC from 2012 to 2017.

Yinka holds a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics from The University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he emerged as the best graduating student of the Faculty in 1987 He subsequently obtained an MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (1990).

He has a broad based knowledge of various areas of business having attended several international senior leadership programs such as the Harvard Business School, Advanced Management Program (and the Global CEO Program (GCP) at CEIBS, Wharton and IESE Business School.

Yinka possess a wealth of experience spanning three decades in Financing, Capital raising, M&A and privatization advisory.

Yinka is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria and Honorary Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria He currently sits on various boards within the Financial Services industry.

Greg Fyfe
Sustainable Finance, Investment Banking Corporate & Investment Banking

Greg has twenty years of project and infrastructure finance banking experience in emerging markets, with a geographic focus on Sub Saharan Africa and a sectoral focus on providing debt solutions predominantly in the infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. Greg has extensive experience sourcing, structuring and closing infrastructure financing transactions and has successfully closed several high-profile infrastructure mandates with MLA’s and DFI’s active on the African continent. During his time as Head of the Energy and Infrastructure debt business, Greg also had oversight and responsibility for all the E&I sector deals listed in this RFP, including the REIPPP transactions, which are Green in nature.

Greg currently leads the global Sustainable Finance (SF) business within Wholesale Clients for Standard Bank. The Sustainable Finance team has responsibility for growing the SF business across Wholesale Clients, building out a full and comprehensive SF suite of products for our client base, developing a SF Centre of Excellence and positioning the bank as the market leader in SF supporting and partnering with our clients as a trusted advisor in their own ESG journeys.

Executive Head: Natural Resources

Berrie de Jager is a passionate banker from Standard Bank where he is responsible for the Natural Resources portfolio in Commercial and Business Banking. One of the key sub-sectors in his portfolio is that of Renewable energy. Most of his 35 year banking career has been spent in the Commercial and Business banking arena where he has gained deep knowledge in the packaging of financial solutions for Entrepreneurial clients. He hold a B.Comm economics degree from the University of Pretoria and a MBA from the University of the Free State. Berrie believes that the renewable energy sector in South Africa has huge potential and presents great opportunities for the producers and users of energy alike. Not only does it help us to mitigate the risks of climate change, but it also comes with huge economic benefits.

Mvuselelo Fakudze
Chief Executive
Standard Bank Eswatini

Mr. Fakudze is currently the Chief Executive of Standard Bank Eswatini, a position he took upin December 2016. Prior to that Mr Fakudze spent fourteen years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Eswatini, six of which He was a partner and another four years at Absa/Barclays Africa where he was based in Johannesburg. During his time at PwC, He audited a significant number of clients in both the private and public sector of Eswatini and completed his international secondment in the NY office of PwC where he did work for Siemens Businesses in the US.

Mr Fakudze qualified as Chartered Accountant (through ACCA) in 2001 after finishing his articles at PwC. He completed a post graduate diploma in accounting at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. Mr Fakudze has served on various boards both in Eswatini and South Africa. Some of them include Business Eswatini, SWABCHA, EWSC, Tibiyo Taka Ngwane, Swaziland Charitable Trust Esicojeni Foundation and several Absa and Barclays subsidiaries during his time in South Africa.

Ian Putter
Head DLT/ Blockchain, Innovation team
Standard Bank

Ian currently holds the title of Head DLT/ Blockchain in the Innovation team at Standard Bank. He collaborates and partners with specialists and organisations locally and internationally as well as Standard Bank teams to determine how this emerging technology can be leveraged best for enhanced efficiency and controls including focusing on new business models focusing on customer first. He also performs in the role of Training Officer for the CA Graduate Training Program.

Ian received a Master’s degree in Banking and Economics from the University of Pretoria and thereafter completed an Honors and CTA at the University of Johannesburg to qualify as a Chartered Accountant. He started his career as an Economist and later joined Standard Bank in 1996 in the Treasury Audit Department. Ian participated in the original SAP General Ledger implementation at Standard Bank and later became the Global CFO of the Global Markets business for the Corporate and Investment bank “CIB” - where he spent a large part of his career and gained extensive local and international accounting, tax and regulatory experience. This was invaluable when he was appointed the Legal Entity Controller for CIB South Africa and the lead on the Global CIB Accounting Rules Engine project - which further enhanced his technical skills. He spent two years as the Head of Africa Finance Integration and had the privilege of traveling to nearly all the Standard Bank franchises in the Rest of Africa. Ian has worked in various areas and functions in the Bank working across the group in many African countries as well as internationally.

With more than 26 years of industry expertise, comprehensive academic training and practical professional development, Ian Putter is a future-focused Executive at Standard Bank, the largest financial institution in Africa, where he heads up Blockchain focusing on multiple use cases and platforms some in production and some starting - working and collaborating with local and global experts. He is a blockchain evangelist and has spent the last two years focusing on this technology.

Linda Manda
Head: Agribusiness, Corporate and Investment Banking
Standard Bank

Linda Manda, is the Global Head of Agribusiness Sector, in Corporate and Investment Banking at Standard Bank Group. Her focus is on accelerating sustainable growth with agricultural development. Her experience of 24 years ranges from external audit, development finance, agriculture, agro-processing, treasury management and corporate banking; she has specialised in development and agricultural finance in Sub Saharan Africa. She has made notable contributions to smallholder farmer financing models in Africa that bridged the gap between smallholder farmers and the finance sector.

Linda is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Accountants UK ( ACCA), CPA Malawi, and holds an MPhil Development Finance from Stellenbosch University and a BA Hons in Accounting and Finance from University of Leeds(UK).
