Being an agricultural economist by profession Bernd Kuepker started his career as agricultural researcher dealing mostly with quantitative analyses and impact assessment of agricultural policy. After a year in the German Ministry of Finance he joined the Commission services in 2008. The first three years he worked for DG Agriculture before he moved to the Renewable Energy Unit of DG Energy. Since 2021 Bernd Kuepker works in the Unit “Decarbonisation and Sustainability of Energy Sources” of DG Energy with a focus on the promotion of renewable and low carbon fuels in the transport sector including renewable hydrogen and biofuels.
