Founder at Excellwise Ventures DWC – LLC
Speaker

Profile

Dimitris Drisis was born in Kavala Greece in 1969, firstborn of 3 children. His early exposure to Malthusian Economics, the social role of agriculture to feed a growing population, his affinity to nature and his fascination with the work of Norman Borlaug created the right motivation mix to study Agronomy, unusual for a city boy. His studies enriched with an MBA, a Doctor in Business Administration and an ongoing lifelong education.

Dimitris has served corporate roles as a General Manager and Regional Marketing Manager for blue chip leaders in the Agribusiness industry, supported small and medium sized start-ups escalating their business and lectured in several academic and professional fora.

His studies and professional life developed his pro-science and pro-capital attitude. His favorite quotes from Schumpeter “capitalism is not to provide silk stockings to the queens of the world, but to the factory girls” and Albert Einstein that “I never think of the future, it is always close enough” defined his economical beliefs on the role of capital to plan timely and develop technologies that contribute the social welfare.

After 26 years as a Corporate professional manager with credentials on turnaround management and rapid business escalation, Dimitris currently shares his time between Romania, Greece, UAE and Germany. He is an active entrepreneur and a public speaker. He is married and a father of 4.
