Doaa Ibrahim is a microbiologist with a Master's degree in Microbiology from Ain Shams University, completed in 2023. She currently works as a lecturer assistant at the Biotechnology Department within the Faculty of Organic Agriculture at Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development. Doaa is an experienced instructor in the plant module of biodynamic course, where she combines her academic knowledge with hands-on training every semester at SEKEM farm. Her research focused on the use of bioinoculants, particularly cyanobacteria, to enhance plant growth, improve soil health, boost rhizospheric microbial diversity and improve the quality of medicinal plant essential oils. This work has now been brought to life through her innovative startup, EcoCyan , co-founded with her supervisor, Dr. Eman Nour. Together, they have developed a biofertilizer product called “Cyanoboost” rooted in the findings of Doaa’s master's research and published paper. Their flagship product, "Cyanoboost," transforms her academic findings into a practical solution, promoting sustainable agriculture and addressing key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Climate Action (SDG 13) and Life on Land (SDG 15). In 2024, Cyanoboost, was recognized with the prestigious Regenerative Agriculture Venture Program for being one of the best solutions addressing climate change and biodiversity loss.
