Prof. Junio Cota is the Coordinator of the Center for Innovation in Agrobiotechnologies (CI-Agrobiotec) and an Associate Professor at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences at UFMG (ICA/UFMG). He holds a PhD in Food Science from UNICAMP and has over 20 years of experience in Research & Development (R&D), with a strong track record in coordinating innovation projects involving public-private partnerships, intellectual property, and technology transfer. His research focuses on the development of Ag Biologicals, functional foods, and industrial bioprocesses. With experience in academic entrepreneurship and founding startups, he has filed 3 patents for innovative technologies and published 39 articles in international journals. His career is characterized by the strong interaction between cutting-edge science and market demands, driving the advancement of biotechnology in the Brazilian agribusiness sector.
