Clement Gautier is the Head of External Innovation for both the Rare Disease and Neuroscience therapeutic areas at Ipsen. Clement trained as a Biochemist earning a Ph.D at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris before specializing in neurodegenerative diseases during his post-doctoral training in the departments of Jie Shen and Dennis Selkoe at Harvard Medical School. During his academic career he published over 25 works that led to more than 7000 citations. Following many years in academia, Clement decided to join the pharmaceutical industry, leading a drug discovery team at Servier (France) before moving closer to business development. He led the search and evaluation activities for neurology at Servier before joining Ipsen in 2021 where his responsibilities also include leading the research governance committee.
