Dr. João Seixas is a chemist and biotech entrepreneur, and co-founder & CEO of TargTex, a biotechnology company developing first-in-class allosteric modulators of the TRPV2 calcium channel for oncology and cardiovascular diseases. He holds an MSc from Instituto Superior Técnico and a PhD from Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica (Portugal). With over 20 years of experience in drug discovery across academia and industry - including roles at Alfama, the GlaxoSmithKline Tres Cantos Open Lab Foundation, Galchimia, and Instituto de Medicina Molecular - he has authored 30+ publications and is an inventor on multiple patents. Under his leadership, TargTex has secured major European funding, including a €14M EIC Accelerator program, and was selected for the Texas Medical Center Accelerator for Cancer Therapeutics .
