Profile
Katja is a communications strategist and entrepreneur with more than 25 years’ international experience in the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors. A serial entrepreneur, she has founded two specialist communications consultancies.
As Founder and Managing Partner of Scius Communications, Katja has supported some of Europe’s largest life sciences financings and IPOs. She is also Co-Founder and former Board Director of Northbank Communications, a global life sciences communications firm that grew to more than 35 staff and 100 clients before its successful sale to College Hill (now Instinctif).
Katja later spent four years at AstraZeneca, first as Director of Partnering Communications within the business development team, and then as Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Global Product and Portfolio Strategy, where she served on the leadership team.
Katja's investor relations experience includes in-house roles at SV Life Sciences (now SV Health) and at Russell-Welsh (now GCI Healthcare) in San Francisco. She also served as Head of Communications and Investor Relations at Genset SA (now part of Merck Serono), a Nasdaq-listed pioneer in personalised healthcare based in Paris.
Katja holds a Master’s degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University and an MBA from Imperial College London.
