Simão Soares is the CEO and co-founder of SilicoLife, a company that leverages AI and biology to design cell factories and develop novel pathways for the sustainable production of ingredients, including those used in dietary supplements, through precision fermentation. He holds an MSc in Bioinformatics from the University of Minho, a postgraduate degree in management from NOVA School of Business and Economics, and has completed executive training in Blue Ocean Strategy at INSEAD. Simão served as President of P-BIO, the Portuguese Bioindustry Association, from 2019 to 2026, and is a Climate Reality Leader and an alumnus of the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers initiative. In 2020, he was named the Most Innovative Bioeconomy CEO. With over 15 years of experience in industrial biotechnology, he is a recognized leader in the field.
