Allyn Spear is currently a Principal Research Scientist and Cell Line Development Lead at Elanco Animal Health. His group transitions projects from discovery research into technical development through development of stable pools, clonal lines, and oversight of master cell banking and testing. Prior to joining Elanco, Allyn worked for the USDA Agriculture Research Service where he was involved in novel insect virus discovery, swine vaccine platform development, and aquaculture disease research. Allyn received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2009, and holds Bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.
