Corey Brizzee is the Director of Gene Editing at Demeetra, where he leads the development and delivery of gene editing solutions that drive meaningful results. With deep expertise in protein engineering and gene editing across plants, microbes, and mammalian cells, he brings a versatile, cross-disciplinary approach to tackling complex biological challenges. In his role, Corey manages projects and teams, designs and innovates new technologies, and solves technical problems for both clients and the company. He’s also a clear, engaging science communicator—translating cutting-edge research for broader audiences at conferences and in client-facing meetings. Corey earned his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Kentucky and previously completed a B.A. in Biology at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY.
