Dieter started his career in molecular biology and cell culture, working on the design and development of viral vector–based systems. He later transitioned into manufacturing process development, building a broad perspective across the full lifecycle of biotherapeutic products.

His work further evolved from individual unit operations to the bigger picture: designing robust, scalable, and efficient processes end-to-end. Across various roles in biotech, he took on increasing responsibility in process development, consistently driven by a practical question - how can complex biology be made more predictable and less dependent on trial and error?

As Co-Founder and CTO of bespark*bio, Dieter leads the company’s scientific and technological direction, combining deep bioprocess expertise with data-driven approaches and digital tools. In this role, he advances more systematic and reliable ways to translate complex biology into scalable and well-understood manufacturing processes.
