Dr Isabella Deutsch combines (messy) data and AI to improve how bioprocesses are designed, optimised, and scaled. She works as an Applied Machine Learning Researcher at Danu Insights, an Edinburgh-based tech startup, which recently won both the Life Science award and Grand Prize at the Agentic AI Pioneers Prize by Innovate UK. Isabella holds a PhD in Statistics from the University of Edinburgh and a Masters in Statistical Science from the University of Oxford. She regularly speaks at public science events like the Edinburgh Science Festival and has presented her research at STEM for Britain in the UK Parliament.
