Jens has a more than 15-year experience working for biotechnology supplier industry as technical consultant and product manager. At Sartorius Jens holds global responsibility for the BIOSTAT STR® instruments for microbial applications and the stainless steel in-situ portfolio, taking care of product specifications and working together PD on new products and product improvements. He published in peer-reviewed journals his work on bioreactor applications and technical advances. Jens studied biology and graduated with a PhD in molecular genetics and biochemistry. He has a strong background in biological research leading a group at the Institute for Molecular Biosciences at University of Queensland in Brisbane, where he studied microalgae for biofuels production. In his last research position he was responsible for a photo-bioreactor facility within a systems biology project at the Max-Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology in Potsdam.
