Sebastian SchwamingerAssociate Professor at Medical University of GrazSpeaker
Profile
Since February 2022, Sebastian Schwaminger has been working as tenure track professor for "Nanomaterials for Drug Delivery" at the Division of Medicinal Chemistry at Medical University of Graz. Tenure was awarde 2024. After studying Chemical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (2007-2013), he pursued a doctoral program in the field of Chemical Engineering at the Bioseparation Engineering Group at TU Munich. Supported by an EU-funded Marie Curie Fellowship, he led a research project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2021), focusing on the electrically controlled binding behavior of biomolecules to nanoparticles. At Medical University of Graz, he is involved in the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials in the field of cardiovascular and vascular research. His main focus is on the use of magnetic nanomaterials for medical and pharmaceutical applications, particularly iron oxide-based nanomaterials for enabling magnetically controlled drug transport.
