James Bererton, P. Eng., has spent over 30 years dedicated to thinking about climate change and the future of energy, which has resulted in setting new standards for both energy efficiency and sustainability. As a specialist in geo-exchange and energy storage designs, James has contributed to the Canadian standards for geo-exchange, net zero healthcare, and net zero building design as well as the International Energy Agency standards.
This passion for sustainable energy has led to exploring a wide range of technology – from waste heat recovery, photovoltaics (PV), and solar PV/thermal to biomass, geo-exchange, and sustainable building design – for many challenging projects.
From designing the 2nd largest net zero facility in North America and the sustainable energy framework for the country of Barbados to leading the net zero design of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s new corporate yard and involvement with the world-renowned Okotoks Drake Landing Solar Community, James brings a rigorous and detailed approach to projects our clients trust and respect.
