Kevin Smartt is the Chief Executive Officer of TXB Stores and Managing Member of Taylor-Smartt LLC, bringing more than two decades of leadership and entrepreneurial experience to the convenience retail and investment industries. In 2025, Kevin was inducted into the Convenience Store News Hall of Fame, recognizing his impact on brand building, industry leadership, and innovation in convenience retail.

TXB (short for Texas Born), formerly Kwik Chek Food Stores, is a dynamic chain of 57 convenience stores across Texas and southern Oklahoma. The rebrand to TXB reflects a renewed commitment to Texas values—authenticity, hospitality, and integrity—while delivering fresh, made-to-order food, curated private-label products, and a modern retail experience. Under Kevin’s leadership, TXB has evolved into a differentiated regional brand known for strong execution, food-forward innovation, and disciplined growth.

In addition to leading TXB, Kevin is the Managing Member of Taylor-Smartt LLC, a diversified investment firm with holdings across fuel distribution, propane, technology, banking, real estate, logistics, and food production. His investment philosophy emphasizes long-term value creation, operational excellence, and aligned leadership across portfolio companies.

Kevin’s influence extends beyond his own organizations. He has served in several prominent industry leadership roles, including Chairman of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), Chairman of Conexxus—the technology standards organization for convenience retail—and Chairman of the Coca-Cola National Retailing Research Council. He currently serves on the NACS Supplier Board and on multiple advisory boards supporting growth-oriented companies across the convenience, retail, and technology sectors.
