Dr. Andrew Fisher had an extensive 30-year career in the Merseyside Police, culminating in his role as a Superintendent. In this capacity, he held critical strategic responsibilities, overseeing areas such as neighbourhood policing, diversity, equality, and citizen engagement.

Following his retirement, Andrew took his expertise abroad, collaborating with police forces in the United Arab Emirates and Somalia to foster an appreciation for the positive impacts of neighbourhood policing, Problem Oriented Policing and citizen engagement techniques.

In terms of academic achievements, Andrew earned a first-class honours degree in Police Leadership and Management in 2008, followed by a doctorate in Policing, Security, and Community Safety in 2013. He has also contributed significantly to higher education by serving as a lecturer and seminar tutor at various UK universities.

Currently, Andrew is a sessional lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University, where he has been actively involved for several years. He imparts his knowledge across all levels of undergraduate and postgraduate policing-related programs. His primary areas of interest revolve around the development of policing in the UK, Police Leadership, Problem Oriented Policing and the evolution of Neighbourhood Policing.
