After a long stint in London, both in law and publishing, Alèxe moved to the Tees in 1989. Initial work in public relations for the port led, in 1997, to the development of a business specialising in port waste, oil pollution response, port/marine safety and port security, with clients throughout the United Kingdom and beyond.
A firm believer in lifelong education, Alèxe has added to her qualifications in law and management by undergoing continuous further training to develop her areas of work. She is committed to the idea of an integrated approach to conservancy related activities in ports, and to the welfare of seafarers.
