After a career in the Merchant Navy and Sultan of Oman’s Royal Yacht Squadron, followed by 3 years as a Salvage and Mooring Officer for the Ministry of Defence Mark moved to Falmouth as Deputy Harbour Master in 1992.
He was promoted to Harbour Master in 2000. During his time at Falmouth he obtained a Diploma in Management and had a number of papers published in the area of mooring management. He addressed the Nautical Institute seminar dealing with the Post ERIKA issues and has addressed the BPA conference on casualty reception in UK ports.
He sits on the Pilotage and Marine Working Group of the British Ports Association and has recently been appointed as the UKHMA representative on the European Harbour Masters Committee of the International Harbour Masters Association.
