John is an independent maritime policy adviser and formerly the Chief Executive Officer of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

He has worked closely with government ministers on the review of maritime policy and has been responsible for the review of a wide range of organisational maritime issues and major changes within the sector.
