Andrew is a senior business leader with over 21 years of international payments experience. During this time, he has held various roles ranging from product development & management, marketing, business development to general management.

Prior to Thunes, Andrew was the Managing Director, Middle East & Africa at WorldRemit, a leading digital money transfer company. Andrew joined WorldRemit in June 2017. During his time at WorldRemit he transformed the region by expanding the partnership network with leading banks, telcos and other payment providers and establishing presence in several African countries including the launch of WorldRemit South Africa, Rwanda, Somalia and Tanzania.

Before joining WorldRemit, Andrew spent 17 years at American Express where he held a number of roles within the company ranging from product development and management, strategy, marketing to business development. His last role was Vice President & General Manager, Turkey Middle East and Africa Global Network & International Card Services where he was responsible for growth and expansion of the American Express partnership businesses across the region.

During his time at American Express he held a number of Board and Executive Committee roles of American Express Middle East & Saudi Arabia, a joint venture companies between American Express, Mawarid Holdings and Saudi Arabia Investment Bank (SAIB). Andrew was also the Chairman of American Express Group Services Limited, one of the companies European entities.
