Kate is currently the Head of Policy at the Payment Systems Regulator, overseeing the development and implementation of all regulatory intervention to deliver the PSR’s strategic objectives of improved competition, innovation and protection in UK payments systems. Her focus is on driving industry wide incentives and innovation in Open Banking and the UK’s new payments architecture, tackling APP Fraud and leading market reviews on Visa and Mastercard to improve user outcomes.
She first joined the PSR in 2020 as a Senior Advisor in Payment Systems following a career leading change and transformation in payments, banking, and operations. She has specialised in leading large transformational programmes for end-to-end payments as well as integration and divestment programmes for UK Banks.
Prior to joining the PSR Kate worked in a variety of roles at Lloyds Bank and led payment integrations for their merger with Halifax Bank of Scotland, followed by the TSB Divestment. She also served as TSB's Payments Director and on the board of Payments
