Mike Burns is a member of the investment team at Canapi Ventures, the largest venture capital firm dedicated to financial services with over $1.4 billion in assets under management across multiple funds. At Canapi, Mike focuses on investments in AI/ML, Data & Analytics, Payments, and Bank Infrastructure, sourcing, evaluating, and supporting early- to growth-stage fintech companies that sell into banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions.

Canapi's differentiated model, backed by an LP base of 70+ banks and other Financial service providers, gives its portfolio companies a direct channel to financial institution buyers, accelerating go-to-market and deepening product-market fit. Mike works closely with portfolio companies and bank partners to facilitate these introductions and drive adoption across the Alliance network.

Prior to Canapi, Mike served as a U.S. Navy Special Warfare Officer (SEAL) and began his career as an Equity Sales Analyst at Morgan Stanley. He holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business and a B.A. in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
