With more than 30 years at BASF, Clemens Karg brings extensive experience in the global chemical industry, including several international assignments. From 2022 to 2025, he was responsible for BASF’s global gas procurement and gas business, leading the development of a self-managed LNG supply chain and the establishment of an in-house portfolio management system, with long-term supply contracts serving as a cornerstone.

Since October 2025, Clemens has taken over responsibility as Vice President for all trading and operations-related topics for the procurement of gas, power, and further energy carriers within BASF’s Renewable Energy unit.
