Gottfried Steiner is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Central European Gas Hub AG (CEGH), located in Vienna, Austria. With an annual trading volume of around 700 TWh of natural gas, CEGH is one of the most important natural gas trading platforms in Continental Europe. CEGH operates the Virtual Trading Point of the Market Area East of Austria. Gottfried Steiner is the Managing Director of EEX CEGH Gas Exchange Services GmbH (ECG). ECG enables the trading of EEX CEGH gas exchange products in Austria and in the Czech Republic. In 2024, ECG achieved a total trading volume of 395 TWh at the Austrian and Czech Gas Exchange Markets. CEGH developed the CEGH GreenGas Platform and the CEGH GreenHydrogen Index to support the energy transformation with the development of cross-border trading of Biomethane and the development of a Green Hydrogen market.
