Profile
After nearly 30 years in the energy business, Laurent HAMOU is now head of European and Institutional Affairs at Elengy, ENGIE subsidiary operating 3 French LNG terminals, since 1st January 2020.
He is co-chairing several work groups within Gas Infrastructure Europe and France Gaz, part of the CODIR of France Gaz Maritime, administrator of France Mobilité Biogaz, and an active member of New Energies, The Energies Coalition for Transport & Logistics.
He is particularly involved in the setting up of an appropriate regulatory framework supporting Elengy’s decarbonization pathway :
- Development of CCUS projects, aiming at a supportive regulation all along the value chain of projects, including recognition of biogenic CO2;
- Development of bio-/e-LNG maritime and road mobility. In particular, he is involved in equivalence liquefaction implementation, and transposition of REDIII mandates.
More generally development of new gases, such as bio- and e-methane, e-ammonia, CO2
