Profile
María Sicilia is Director of the Investment Office of Enagás and co-Chair of the European Hydrogen Backbone initiative. Prior to that, she was Deputy Director General for Energy Planning of the Government of Spain, Head of Prospective at Iberdrola, Senior Electricity Markets Expert at the International Energy Agency and Regulatory Economist at Ofgem. As a career senior civil servant, she was an Energy Adviser to the Secretary of State for the Economy and Energy Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Spain to the EU.
She holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad Complutense – CEU, an MPA in Public and Economic Policy from LSE, and executive training from Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
