Mark Simons leads the short term gas and power origination team at TotalEnergies Gas & Power, based in Geneva.

Mark has over 20 years of experience in origination and has delivered hundreds of profitable energy deals across Europe. In 2022 Mark was elected to the board of EFET. Mark started his career with BP and subsequently worked for BG Group where he led the company’s European gas trading business. Following the takeover and integration of BG by Shell, Mark joined Maersk Oil in Copenhagen as head of global gas trading. In 2018 Mark joined TotalEnergies, following their acquisition of Maersk Oil and has now worked for the company in Stavanger, London and now Geneva.
