Tomoko Hanadate is global Head of R&D Alliances at Astellas, based in Tokyo, Japan. She is responsible for leading the alliance management team covering R&D phase of collaborations with external partners.

Following 20 years’ experience in Medical & Development, she started leading alliance management team in 2021 which aims at maximizing alliance values and achieving a common goal with partners by respecting cultural differences, nurturing and enhancing trust-based relationships. Her R&D Alliances team is working closely with BD teams to design deals for long-term success, aligning with Astellas’ vision to deliver VALUE to patients.
