Profile

Karen Montecuollo is the Senior Vice President of Brand & Content Insights at A+E Networks. She has 15 years of experience leading consumer strategy, social media and digital analytics (including monetization), and cultural insights with expertise in Entertainment and Strategic Communications. Karen is a dynamic leader who is passionate about unlocking human truths at the intersection of culture, creativity, innovation, and content. As the Head of Insights Group at A+E Network she is responsible for unearthing insights that spur creative strategy and brand growth as well as architecting enterprise-wide studies using a mix of data-driven solutions and nontraditional methods that drive business growth for its big three brands: History, Lifetime, and A&E.

Prior to her role with A+E Networks, Karen was Director of Analytics and Brand Intelligence at J. Walter Thompson Worldwide where she led consumer research for global brands, such as Rolex, Johnson & Johnson, Coca-Cola, Walmart, and Kellogg’s. In 2016, she also led the expansion of J. Walter Thompson’s research function across Europe. Karen began her career as a Consultant at Strategic Business Insights (formerly SRI International) working with clients at leading financial institutions such as Bank of America.

Karen has served as an Assistant Professor in the Strategic Communications Program at Columbia University where she taught Insights Discovery as well as Creative Expression and Channel Architecture. She is an active contributor within the research industry, serving as a member of the core team that created the NYU/ARF Certificate in Marketing Optimization program as well as developing the curriculum and teaching the Discovering and Testing the Key Consumer Insight course. She is also a graduate of the WICT Betsy Magness Leadership Institute.

Karen graduated magna cum laude from The College of New Jersey with a dual degree in Economics and Political Science. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and two young children.
