Gavin serves as the Head of Global Meetings & Events for AstraZeneca, a role he has held since 2022. In this capacity Gavin oversees the evolution and execution of AstraZeneca’s global meetings and events strategy, managing a geographically diverse on- and off-shore global team of over 100 FTEs to optimize the AZ SMMP. This includes responsibility for the management of meetings, events and congresses/conventions throughout the product lifecycle, from clinical R&D through to commercialization and product maturity, for both internal (AZ employee) and HCP attendees.

Before joining AstraZeneca, Gavin held prominent leadership positions in the agency side of the pharmaceutical meetings industry, including the roles of US and Global President of Ashfield Meetings & Events for over 10 years. Prior to joining the meetings industry, Gavin’s early career included roles at PWC, after he graduated with a degree in accountancy.

Gavin resides with his partner of 20 years, Rob, splitting their time between Philadelphia, PA and Cape May, NJ.
