Jay Blachford is Vice President & Managing Director, Commercial Originations at EQ Bank, where he leads the bank’s national commercial originations strategy and teams across Canada. Since joining EQ Bank in 2018, Jay has held senior leadership roles focused on expanding broker and partner relationships, strengthening sales strategy and delivering innovative commercial real estate financing solutions across asset classes. He brings over two decades of experience in commercial banking, originations and credit, including nearly 15 years at TD Bank in senior sales, relationship management and credit roles.

Jay holds a B.Comm in International Business from the University of Victoria and has completed executive education through Dale Carnegie and Queen’s University in sales leadership, strategy, and negotiation.
