Norm has spent almost 35 years in the commercial real estate industry, most of it as a lender. He has extensive knowledge in a variety of CRE areas including credit risk management, special loans and workouts, and more recently CMBS. During his career he has been involved in over $12B of transactions including fixed term and variable mortgages, construction and development loans and operating lines.

Norm has held senior management roles with a number of large Canadian and US financial institutions in the commercial real estate lending sector. He joined RBC in 2003 where he established the CMBS lending program and grew it into the largest CMBS businesses in Canada. Norm is currently Managing Director and Group Head of RBC’s Commercial Mortgage Finance business.
