Agnieszka Trzcinska
Team Lead Economist at European Central Bank
Speaker

Profile

Agnieszka Trzcinska is a Team Lead in the Directorate General Macroprudential Policy and Financial Stability at the European Central Bank (ECB). In this role, she supports the ECB’s Chair of the NGFS Workstream on Scenario Design and Analysis in the development of climate scenarios. Introduced in 2020, the NGFS long-term climate scenarios have become a key tool for central banks, supervisors, and other financial stakeholders to explore potential future pathways of climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy. In May 2025, the NGFS released the first vintage of short-term climate scenarios, which examine the impacts of climate risks over a five-year horizon.

Prior to her current role, Agnieszka led teams focused on European economic and fiscal governance, as well as banking sector policy, within the Directorate General International and European Relations at the ECB. Before joining the ECB, she held various positions at the National Bank of Poland and managed European research projects in the private sector.

Agnieszka holds an MSc in Managerial Economics, an MSc in Finance and Accounting, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Warsaw.
